Kashmiri Mamra Almonds
Prunus dulcis · whole mamra almonds
The mamra is the almond the subcontinent has always prized — small, plump and gently curved, grown slowly in cold Himalayan orchards and never polished or roasted. Naturally sweet, dense with oil, and eaten the old way: soaked overnight, peeled at dawn.
Pre-order, draft pricing. First small-batch lots are packed on confirmation — the button writes to us and holds your place until checkout opens.
The soaked-dawn ritual
Put a small handful to soak before bed. By morning the skins slip off between finger and thumb and the kernel turns milky and soft — the way almonds have opened mornings across Kashmir for generations, quietly, before the first cup.

Loved for centuries.
Studied honestly.
Mamra is a distinct, slow-growing Himalayan almond — small, concave and wrinkled rather than flat and uniform — long prized across the subcontinent for a denser, sweeter, more oil-rich kernel than mass-market varieties.
Almonds are roughly half healthy fats, mostly monounsaturated, alongside protein, fibre, vitamin E and magnesium. US regulators permit a qualified claim that a small daily handful of nuts, within a healthy diet, may reduce heart-disease risk.
Dozens of randomised trials have tested almonds on blood lipids, and meta-analyses find modest reductions in total and LDL cholesterol. Modest is the honest word — a daily handful is a good habit, not a prescription.
Sacred Ritual pantry goods are foods, not medicines, and nothing on this page is medical advice. Tree-nut allergy is common and whole nuts are a choking hazard for young children — take care when sharing. If you have a medical condition or take regular medication, speak to your doctor before changing your daily diet.
