The four o'clock pour
This is the cup for the long middle of the afternoon. Brew it warm and unhurried as the light turns gold — or double-strength over ice with a little honey, the way agua de jamaica has been poured for generations.

Loved for centuries.
Studied honestly.
Hibiscus is one of the best-researched herbal teas in the world — more than two dozen randomised controlled trials have examined its effect on cardiovascular markers such as blood pressure, with consistently encouraging findings.
The crimson colour comes from anthocyanin pigments; the bright tartness from natural organic acids. Both are the subject of continuing antioxidant research.
Because hibiscus is studied for blood-pressure effects, check with your doctor if you take antihypertensive medicines and drink it daily. We'd rather you know.
Sacred Ritual teas are foods, not medicines, and nothing on this page is medical advice. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or take regular medication, speak to your doctor before making any tea a daily habit.
